Dry Point Print 2016
I have created several portraits of my daughter as she grew up. This one was done after she became an adult. I asked her what she wanted in her portrait this time. She told me the animals, the plant nations, the symbols and designs. I really enjoyed creating this with her and for her. When I gave it to her, she said, "Oh! Wow!" I was happy to have pleased her.
Dry Point Print 2017
After any type of ongoing trauma, many people watch their loved one's hair become thinned out or lost completely. I notice the thick, double braids of dancers over time as they continue to heal and their hair begins to come back. This work is in honor of all of the ancestors of courage and all of the present-day nations and individuals who work to heal.
