Momma bobcats are solitary, extremely protective, and usually raise 1–4 kittens entirely on their own, starting in Spring. After 62 days of gestation, the momma hides her babies in secure, hidden spots like caves or hollow logs. She nurses her kittens for 2 months, then begins teaching them to hunt.
